A bright creative studio with prints pinned to the wall

About / Experience

A bit more about me

This is where you tell your creative story properly — where you trained, what you love making, and what you're working on right now. Keep it warm and specific; clients remember the details.

Right now

What I'm making

A snapshot of your current work and obsessions. Update it whenever things change — it's the most human section on any portfolio, and it shows people how you think when nobody's briefing you.

Making

A self-initiated type specimen zine, hand-set and risograph-printed. It's the passion project keeping my commissioned work fresh, and it's teaching me to trust rough edges again.

Exploring

Generative and variable type — where design direction meets a little bit of code. I'm sketching tools that let a brand's typography respond to context instead of sitting still.

Away from the desk

Collecting old printed matter at flea markets, shooting film on long walks, and slowly filling far too many sketchbooks with ideas I'll get to eventually.

Background

The longer version

A relaxed studio portrait in natural light

Start with where you are and what you make. A sentence or two is enough to set the scene — people skim portfolios quickly, so lead with the interesting part and let the rest earn its place on the page.

Then talk about your path: how you got here, the kind of work that makes you lose track of time, and the studios or projects that shaped your eye. Concrete beats abstract every single time, so name real clients and real outcomes.

Close with what you're looking for now — the projects, collaborators, or kinds of problems you most want to take on. It's your site; set the tone that feels right to you.

When you're ready, replace every paragraph here with your own words. This placeholder is only here so the layout looks complete from day one.

Experience

Work history

A few milestones to give shape to the story. Trim, expand, or rewrite these to match your own path — and keep the most recent role on top.

  1. 2022 — now

    Independent art director

Went out on my own to take on more deliberate, design-led projects. Identity, editorial, and motion for independent brands — and full ownership of the look, start to finish.

  2. 2019 — 2022

    Senior Designer, Studio Aster

Led design on a run of brand launches and mentored a growing team. Learned how much a strong system depends on trust — and on writing the rules down.

  3. 2016 — 2019

    Designer, Northwind Creative

Cut my teeth at a busy studio where everyone did a bit of everything — pitch decks one day, packaging the next. Shipped fast, learned faster.

  4. 2016

    BFA Graphic Design

Freelanced my way through school, mostly posters and identities for local venues. Fell in love with the craft — and with the smell of a fresh print run — right here.

How I work

What I care about

Concept first

A strong idea survives any format; a pretty layout without one doesn't.

Craft

Kerning, color, and timing done with care are what separate good from forgettable.

Generosity

Great work is a collaboration — I share early, listen hard, and leave the ego at home.
